Any idea why my maxisys will not reset the engine / oil service on a 2008 Audi A3 2L tdi?

As for your case, please do it as following path:
    service>oil service>17-Instruments>delivery Inspection

Not all VW and Audi's are reset from scantools. some models are done from steering wheel or cluster. Believe that car is done with cluster. think its key on pull out button 1 right of display and service will come up then pull again for 5 seconds and it should reset. Vcds is a great tool!

    1. For Fixed Interval servicing, you can use the following procedure.
    2. Start with the ignition turned ON (position 2). But with the engine OFF Pull out and hold the button on the right side of the display until SERVICE appears on the display.
    3. Release the button on the right, then within 5 seconds pull the button out and hold it again.
    4. Release the button when the display shows ,barm or SERVICE IN xxxx Miles / Kilometres, xxxx days.
    5. Turn off the ignition.

I know the manual way to reset, but why have the option on this maxisys but it does not work?
Is it another false claim to make us think this tool is better than it realy is!
I would prefer to be told that it can't do the things that it says it can as not to look a total tit when I have to tell customers that "I am sorry but it has not worked again".

If it can't be reset, it is because it is time for the major maintenance.Have you tried this as I told you above? Service>oil service>17-Instruments>delivery Inspection.
